Ratan Thakore Grant's MiSF!T (My Interest Stays Firmly In Theatre) will be presenting three and half short original plays on June 8,9,10 and 11 at Alliance Francaise, Vasanthnagar. This production is the latest in the highly successful "Audience on the Mat" series.

A platform for creative talent from the MiSF!T Acting Workshops, it features upcoming scriptwriters, actors, and directors. The plays are a work of passion. The cast of forty comprises of artists, college, students, architects, techies, trainers and Managing Directors that have come together with a common purpose - a passion for theatre.

This time around, "Audience on the Mat" features three plays linked with a unique 'I'. The plays in question are 'Words', 'Layaa' and 'Chakravyuh'.

Layaa is a story set in an imaginary world - It's the story of people discovering music between the strands of nature and aligning their lives, their social structures according to it. Its a story about the genesis of ego and discord, the story of innocence lost - about how an entire village can be blinded by a vicious agenda, be convinced to kill fellow humans and driven to the point of insanity.

In Chakravyuh, one discovers that the mysteries of humanity are unfathomable and numerous. It is amazing to notice the heights of greatness we can achieve and also troubling to realize the depths we can plummet to; and that something as simple as a single thought can spur us to these ends. Amazing, disturbing yet true. Even the seemingly most normal individual is plagued by his mind, by his thoughts…

Words, consist of the last few words in a conversation that was lost in the wind. The play is about a millimeter between the lips that was locked in a kiss, but parted a mile; a dream that spoke, breathed life and walked away without turning back; in the end… life is just about missed chances, a long list of what might have been…
